Dragon Ball Z: fan shows that Frieza, Cell and Majin Buu are based on the same design
Creating a manga and creating characters is not an easy task (if not, anyone would do it) and less so when it comes to a work of the size, importance and duration of the Dragon Ball saga. Akira Toriyama's work was born in the distant 1984 and for several years the "sensei" worked hard to deliver new chapters of his manga every week.
In addition to thinking about the story and discussing it with his editor on duty, Toriyama had to design the new characters and, of course, draw the vignettes for each chapter. And perhaps because of this rush and heavy workload, what we are going to talk about in a moment happened. It turns out that a fan of the franchise took a marker, began to draw and showed that three of the great villains of the work are based on the same design.
As you will see in the video that we show you below, it seems that the "sensei" did not complicate his life much in the Z era —which in the manga was still simply Dragon Ball— and decided to draw Frieza, Cell and Majin Buu, the three main villains of this anime, in the same design.

This is not the first time something like this has happened. In fact, several fans of the franchise have noted the resemblance between two or more characters just by changing some element of their face or head. The best known of these resemblances is the one between Goku and Ten Shin Han, because many times it was shown that if you remove the third eye and put hair on the former student of the crane school, he is identical to the Saiyan protagonist.
So is it a lack of imagination or laziness? Although Akira Toriyama has recognized himself as a procrastinator, this could well have been a resource to make things easier for himself and allow him to expand his universe of characters based on the same style, but making each of them unique thanks to the added details. , such as the purple color on Frieza's head, the protuberance that comes out of Majin Buu's skull or the ornaments that Cell has on the sides of his head.
In addition, this design is only based on the faces of the characters, since their complexion and body shape make them quite different. What do you think of these villain designs? Which do you think was the best of them? Leave us your comments!
