Foreign companies spent $10.7 million on businesses during Colombiatex + Colombiamoda 2021
ProColombia announced this Friday that face-to-face and virtual appointments of 391 buyers invited to Colombiatex + Colombiamoda 2021, from 26 countries, left business for more than $10.7 million, between purchases made and sales expectations.
The countries with the highest number of acquisitions during this event, the most important for the textile sector in the country, have been the United States, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Ecuador, which in person concretized a large number of businesses and left expectations of concretization in the future.
“Los dos grandes eventos de Inexmoda se convirtieron en grandes aceleradores de la reactivación económica segura en exportaciones para el sector de moda, y muestra de ello es que, entre compras en el lugar y expectativas de ventas a futuro, se llegó a un monto parcial de US$10,7 millones, por parte de los más de 390 compradores de 26 países que invitamos desde ProColombia”, aseguró la presidenta de ProColombia, Flavia Santoro.
Las prendas más demandadas para su exportación fueron: ropa deportiva, ropa interior, fajas y ropa de control y vestidos de baño, que han incrementado sus ventas en el extranjero durante la crisis sanitaria del covid-19 y que también fueron solicitadas por empresarios de México, Perú, Emiratos Árabes, las Antillas Holandesas e India a través de reuniones virtuales.

On the other hand, ProColombia highlighted that during the first five months of this year fashion exports grew by 42.1% to markets such as the United States ($130.1 million), Ecuador ($41.5 million) and Mexico ($32.1 million), according to Dane figures.
