A call was opened for high school men who are interested in defining their military situation, the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute Inpec opened vacancies for a total of 3,400 people who will be selected for the custody and surveillance body, in quarterly periods during the 2022.
Thus, there will be 3,400 people summoned in the year, divided into four quarters, from there each one of the groups will leave -contingent- made up of 850 applicants.
The requirements demanded by Inpec for this first selection process and incorporation of this year's first contingent are being Colombian, high school graduate, over 18 and under 24 years of age, single, not immersed in the grounds for exoneration to provide compulsory military service, provided for in article 12 of Law 1861 of 2017 and pass the selection process carried out by the Custody Corps Sub-directorate, in each of the incorporation centers registered with the around the whole country.
Those selected by the security forces will be paid the current legal minimum wage set by the government, which this year exceeded one million pesos with transportation subsidies. It will be provided with civilian clothing, a monthly bonus and it will preferably be located near the place of residence of the family nucleus.
The National Penitentiary and Prison Institute, recommends that applicants who present themselves for the pre-selection process must wear sportswear, bring a hydrating drink, snacks and be conditioned for the presentation of the respective physical tests, which it means that they carry out previous training, assist with their personal biosecurity elements such as face masks, antibacterial gel or alcohol, finally, they must bring a pencil and a black ink pen, for the presentation of the written test and time to be able to carry out the process without any rush.
High school graduates will enter the new Inpec shift system, which contemplates a modality of 12 hours of work for 24 hours of rest. The measure only applies since October last year, for the 12,000 officials.
The National Penitentiary and Prison System is made up of the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute, as a public establishment attached to the "Ministry of Justice and Law" with legal status, independent assets and administrative autonomy; by all the detention centers that operate in the country, by the National Penitentiary School and by the other agencies attached to or linked to the fulfillment of its purposes.
Military service in Colombia is compulsory for men over 18 years of age and can be provided in the Army, the Air Force, the National Navy, the National Police or the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute .
Who is not required to serve in the military?: Those who for ethical, political, philosophical or religious reasons are not allowed to use weapons, if you are an only child, orphans or those who financially support parents or siblings, if the parents have died in combat, if you are a father, are married or have a de facto marital union or finally if you are disabled.
