Russia: Restaurant sells hamburgers with rat meat

In Moscow, the Bistro Krasnodar restaurant became famous for its unusual burgers that use rat or otter meat as the main ingredient, an orange rodent with giant teeth found in southern Russia.

The chef responsible for this invention is Takhir Kholikberdiev, who ensures that otter meat is soft and tasty. He adds that this animal is very clean, perhaps that is where the secret of its flavor lies.

For this 35-year-old man, eating this type of meat is certified by doctors, who consider that otter is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. So, with the success of this novelty, the chef has started to expand the menu; now the meat can be tasted in sausages, biscuits, and even wrapped in cabbage leaves.

However, this is not the first time that this rodent has appeared in its gourmet version. In the 1990s, when the country went through an economic crisis and a large part of the population was poor, people began to eat the meat of this rodent, especially in the countryside. It was also used to make coats for people who had no money to buy clothes.
