These are the most interesting used clothing platforms
Published on 01/26/2022 at 11:12 How many times do we come across the typical garment in the back of our home closet with hardly any use? Have you considered reselling it? Or even buy more than one gently used outfit? According to the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU), Europeans throw away more than 10 kilos of textiles each year. Most of this clothing is incinerated or ends up in landfills, polluting the environment. A fact that should make us reflect on compulsive purchases and its impact on our pockets and the environment. Experts warn that this phenomenon can cause addiction. The sales and their sweet discounts are usually the most propitious time for it. In recent years, physical second-hand clothing stores are proliferating as a way of saving, but for some time now online stores are emerging where the seller or buyer is the user himself. A study by the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) has analyzed more than 20 clothing buying and selling platforms, and has chosen these. In Vinted and Wallapop, as they are online stores, the user must complete the entire process: upload the product through photos, put the price, and close the exchange and sale. “The main differences between them is that Vinted is specialized in fashion, while Wallapop is a generalist and clothing is not exactly the best seller, with the exception of sportswear and shoes; and that in Vinted the platform charges a commission to the buyer (5% + €0.70), while in Wallapop there are no commissions for any of the parties, ”says the OCU on its website. The OCU report also It proposes two other platforms: Micolet and Percentil, which, unlike the previous ones, are in charge of the entire process. The OCU warns that they charge “a higher commission for the platform, which in the case of Micolet is 25% + €1.50 + VAT; and in the Percentile, a variable commission from 90% in the case of garments of less than €5.99 up to 40% for garments that are sold for more than €100”, indicates this consumer organization on its online portal. OCU also cites Vestiaire collective, Closet emotions, Upcyclick, Mil Modelitos, Mi Ropa Go, RoPasión, Best for less and Pinkiz as interesting platforms. You may be interested
