A 20-year-old Brighton player, on probation for possible sexual assault

The Premier League is again affected by a sex scandal. Brighton, a club that currently ranks sixth in the British competition, has confirmed that one of its players is being investigated by the police for a possible crime of sexual assault. In addition, police sources have detailed that the player is 20 years old, these being the only data provided publicly.
The facts became known this past Wednesday, when the local police and the English club released their respective statements. The authorities, in a press release collected by media such as Sky Sports, gave the data of the two detainees in the investigation. "A man in his 40s and another in his 20s, both from Brighton, have been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault," they confirmed.
In addition, they also stressed that both detainees were "released on conditional bail until November 3 while investigations continue." The police indicated in the same note that "the victim is receiving specialized support from the agents" after the events that occurred.
For its part, Brighton's statement was much more concise and avoided giving any type of information that could incriminate any of its players. "Brighton & Hove Albion are aware that one of their players is cooperating with the police in the investigation of an alleged crime. The matter is subject to legal process and therefore the club cannot comment further on this moment", indicated from the British entity.
Doubts about identity
The police statement stressing that the detainee is 20 years old narrows the circle a lot, since the only player with that age currently appears in the Brighton squad. However, British media such as The Sun have published the image of an arrested black player on the front page. He appears from behind and it is impossible to recognize his face, but from the English newspaper they assure that it is Yves Bissouma.
This 25-year-old man would not fit the description provided by the police and which was collected by different British media. The lack of details in the Brighton statement makes it impossible to know the real identity of the detainee. While waiting for both the defendant and the veracity of the facts to be known, the Premier League adds a new scandal of this type.
The arrest of this player joins that of Benjamin Mendy, a City player who has been temporarily suspended and who is accused of different sexual assaults, and another player who was arrested last summer for possible sexual offenses against minors.
