AMLO presents a new monthly report to measure inflation, economy and employment
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) presented a report on economic and social matters to detail how each sector is advanced where the main challenge is inflation.
He said that the first Thursday of each month this report will be presented, regardless of the quarterly reports that he will head.
“We are going to inform the people of Mexico about economic results, socially so that we know how we are going in all lands, in income, how we are in debt, as we go in inflation, how we are in job creation, how is thebag, values and how is the price of basics, how is the salary, everything that has to do with development and well -being, ”he said.
When presenting a graph about the Mexican Stock Exchange, he said that “it is quite encouraging because it fell with the pandemic, but the recovery was already achieved and as a result we mentioned it has been an increase of 27.7 percent in the time we have been ".
Of the exchange rate, he indicated that “the Mexican peso with the pandemic went to more than 25 pesos per dollar, and it was possible to go down and we are practically the same as when the government began, there has been no depreciation of the currency, it was not seen since long ago".
In terms of jobs, he attributed the fall in jobs in December, of more than 300 thousand, for layoffs to avoid payment of benefits.
However, he emphasized that there are 20 million 620 thousand jobs with what already recovered what was lost during the pandemic.
The president stressed that "remittances are the main source of income in our country", and according to estimates last December, 51 thousand 634 million dollars will be reached that will benefit 10 million families.

He said that with remittances and social programs in Mexico there has not been a crisis of consumption despite the fact that pandemic was had.
