We tell you how to register your home if you use it for tourist purposes
On January 17, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism issued Decree 1836 of 2021, which established that all electronic or digital platforms for tourist services must register with the National Tourism Registry (RNT). Therefore, here we tell you how the registration process is carried out.
It is important to highlight that, as reported by the Commerce portfolio, this new provision was established so that, for the first time, Colombia regulates the tourist services provided by digital platforms , in addition to determining what the payment of the parafiscal contribution of the same.
In this way, as of the date, all digital platforms that provide tourist services in the country will have to register with the RNT , display the provider's RNT number , as well as "withdraw the advertisement when the provider does not display it or when there is a firm administrative or judicial order, as well as the delivery of information requested by the Colombian authorities.”
And how to register in the National Tourism Registry?
In dialogue with W Radio, the Vice Minister of Tourism, Ricardo Galindo, explained what are the steps that a tourist service provider must follow to register with the RNT:
1. Go to the web page https://rnt.confecamaras.co/home .
2. Once there, select the category and subcategory to which it belongs, that is, the activities and/or functions that it carries out, which must correspond to the commercial activity that it carries out.
3. Indicate the technical and operational capacity of your tourist service.

4. According to the category you have selected, you will have to declare the information or compliance with the requirements indicated for each case.
5. Finally, you will have to "adhere to the code of conduct that promotes prevention policies and avoids the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in their tourist activity."
6. Once you have completed the previous steps, you will already have the registration form filed with the National Tourism Registry.
Remember that the issuance of the National Tourism Registry is a completely free process, which is done digitally, through the chambers of commerce.
Who should register in the National Tourism Registry?
In an interview with W Radio, Deputy Minister Galindo specified that the people who must file their RNT are all those who offer or rent real estate as tourist accommodation, regardless of whether they are advertised through a digital platform, a social network or any other medium.
In this line, the portfolio also indicated that, in the decree, it was also established that, from the date of its issuance, the chambers of commerce will only have five days to register the tourist service provider to the RNT or return the request. . It must be remembered that, previously, the term was 15 days.
Likewise, the Ministry of Commerce highlighted that the decree prohibited the inclusion of additional questions in the RN T renewal process , in order to prevent "management from becoming excessively cumbersome for providers."
