Province invested in equipment for the Perito Moreno airport
The meeting, which was headed by the Minister of Production, Trade and Industry, Silvina Córdoba, together with the Undersecretary of Transport, Rolando D'Avena, and the General Director of Planning and Control, Fabián Kuc; it was attended by Deputy Guillermo Bilardo; Councilor Alejandra Burgos; the head of Roberto Alonso Airport; and the ANAC regional Leonardo Altamirano.
This is a contribution from the Province, through the Unirse Trust Fund, which with an investment of 40,000 dollars will allow the Santa Cruz air system to be valued, to achieve local and regional development, thus complying with operational safety standards. required by aeronautics, in order to enable the aerodrome for commercial flights and achieve air integration with the rest of the country.
The equipment is three, an X-ray inspection system, which includes an input and output tray with rollers; an advanced multizone metal detector system, it is a gantry that has 60 detection points; and a hand-held metal detector system, commonly called a pallet, which will contribute to the security of both the aerodrome and the personnel operating there, detecting dangerous goods such as weapons, explosives or even narcotics.
In this regard, D'Avena assured that this is a very important step for the security of the aerodrome, which will favor giving it a commercial role, taking into account that, currently, passengers can board aircraft only with a handbag and control is manual by security personnel, a situation that makes tourism development impossible.

“We have insisted a lot so that this investment is carried out and the prompt authorization of the fuel plant. These are two central issues that limited us when generating connectivity actions. Then come other priorities that consist of guaranteeing frequent operation, such as, for example, strengthening the fire-fighting system and other points that make operational safety”, explained the head of Transportation of the Province.
For all these reasons, and considering the importance of generating connectivity for social, health and labor integration, this type of investment is fundamental, because the Perito Moreno Provincial Airport is key in the development of the northwest region, "this is one more step moving forward”, stressed the minister, while emphasizing the importance of “urgently” resolving the issue of the fuel plant, to generate regularity in the lines.
“Both Governor Alicia Kirchner and the entire team from the Ministry of Production have a comprehensive view of the northwest of the province and that is why the development of this airport is important, we know that it requires a lot of economic resources, but to go out to looking for it, it is necessary that the executive projects are advanced, because there is financing”, concluded Silvina Córdoba.
