- Disguise a carry-on as a pillow. If you don't mind carrying a pillow with stuff in the middle of your flight, @nolimitua found a loophole for extra luggage that doesn't fit in the suitcase: use a zippered pillowcase and you can fill it with some of your clothes to use the space in your suitcase for something else.
- Make your own line (sometimes). If you are traveling as a couple, one method that may be more comfortable for you is to book the window and aisle seats, and chances are no one wants to book the middle seat. - Find cheaper tickets. Kevine McMillan shares that he has saved up to $100 on airline tickets by buying them directly in person, thus avoiding paying online booking fees. This only works on budget airlines like Allegiant, Frontier, and Spirit.
- A neck brace instead of a travel pillow. User @HelloKristen tried several neck and travel pillows, none gave her as much success and support during her flight as a neck brace. You also save 3 times the price of travel pillows, since you can get neck braces for only $9.
- Compression bags for more space. Alyssa Ramos has several tips for travelers on her TikTok account, a useful one is to use more space in your suitcase. By packing clothes into compression bags—which filter out all the air—you can use up more space in your suitcase.
