The City Council of Carbajales denounces the former mayor Manuel Fidalgo Guillermo
The council demands from the former mayor the return of different material belonging to the Carbajalinos Embroidery Workshop. According to the PP government team, the ex-regidor is in possession of him and refuses to return different pieces.
According to the complaint, Manuela María Bouzada Blanco, a member of the PP Government Team, when asked by the Civil Guard, declared that "on August 1, 2019, the complainant (Roberto Fuentes Gervás) as mayor of Carbajales de Alba and councilor Manuela Bouzada held a meeting with the former mayor Manuel Fidalgo Guillermo to request two large boxes and a large bag with various material belonging to the Embroidery Workshop in the town of Carbajales to exhibit this material in showcases of the Carbajalino Embroidery Museum, responding to this requirement that the material was in custody at his home and he could not deliver it”. This meeting took place on Hospital de Carbajales street.
In view of this attitude, the delivery was requested by means of a burofax sent on August 29, 2019 and received on September 2, 2019 “ignoring this requirement”. The same thing happened with another burofax sent on October 25, 2019 and received on October 28, 2019.
During this time, various municipal plenary sessions have requested that he hand over this material since the accused continues to belong to the Municipal Corporation as a councilor, to which he has constantly refused. According to the complaint before the Civil Guard, when asking about the contents of the boxes, it is stated that "they are various material from the Embroidery Workshop such as bags, wallets, ties and other types of hand embroidery."
It would be material that was elaborated by the embroiderers of the Embroidery Workshop throughout the last legislature, altruistically, so that it would remain as patrimony of the Carbajalino Costume Museum and to be used in samples where the emblem was wanted to be known de Carbajales as the day of the Region or the Fitur and Intur contests.
According to mayor Roberto Fuentes Gervás, "we have tried through active and passive dialogue to get Mr. Manuel Fidalgo Guillermo to return to the City Council the equipment from the Embroidery Workshop that he has in his possession, because they do not belong to their property, but of Carbajales and all Carbajalinos and their place is in the Carbajalino Costume Museum so that they can be admired by the visitors who arrive there. But there is no way, he does not return them and we have no alternative but to file a complaint with the Civil Guard to see if that way we can recover something that is the heritage of the town. Once you return all the belongings you have in your possession, they will immediately go on display in the museum”.
The Board of Directors of the "Bordados Carbajalinos" Cultural Association made an inventory of the assets of the Embroidery Workshop on October 22, 2018, highlighting that in the "Sala de bordara" there are, among other values, 26 embroidered logos, six cushions, a yellow pastry rack, 24 pin cushions, four cream scarves, three gray scarves, six bags, two brown handkerchiefs or scarves, two sewing machines (Alfa and Singer), 26 apprentice embroidered pictures, eleven scissors and eight chopped cushions.
