3 tricks to order, clean and organize closets that allow you to free up space without getting rid of your things and that amazes Marie Kondo

You may not be a fan of minimalism or that your house is very small and your closet is tiny, but the reality is that sometimes the recipes of tidying gurus like Marie Kondo do not help us gain some space in the closet. Among other things because their advice usually consists of throwing away or donating 75% of the things you keep in it. But what happens when you've already got rid of everything that doesn't work for you, you don't like it or it's broken and you still can't free up space in the closet? Well, the time has come not to despair and apply plan B, like these infallible tricks to organize the closet and get room in it without getting rid of your things.

Organizing the space outside of your closet can help you put some of the stuff you wanted to put in it somewhere else. The clothes from previous seasons, the dresses that you only wear at weddings, the shoes for big occasions, the clothes that you only wear when you go to a rural house… all these clothes can be properly stored in another place. Take advantage of the space under the bed or take advantage of your empty suitcase that you only use on vacation to store some of those clothes inside (if possible the most voluminous and least used).

If your wardrobe is tall and narrow and allows you to put several hanging rods at different heights, you have to hang everything except your wool sweaters and jackets with fabrics that can be deformed. Hang a metal chain from each hanger and place a new hanger on each link. Group on these quadruple hangers the clothes that form a complete outfit (so you will save time in the morning) or of the same category and color of clothing (so it will be easy for you to think of combinations). Putting curtain rings on the rod of a hanger to hang and organize scarves and scarves will also help you keep everything in sight and under control.

If the doors of your wardrobe open wide, congratulations, because you can place a full-length mirror in one of them and take advantage of the other to place different hooks on it to hang the complete clothes for the next day, your accessories, your handkerchiefs and even your jewelery hanging in cloth bags. And to take advantage of it 100%, screw a bar (which can even be a towel rack) in the lower half to hang it, trapped between the door and the space left by the bar, your flattest shoes.

If your wardrobe has an upper shelf that you use as a trunk and there is a gap between that huge board and the hanging bar below, get trays that hook onto the shelf to take advantage of that gap. Your shirts may end up a little tighter, but you will be able to keep all your clothes in view and you will have multiplied the space in your closet.
