This was Colin Trevorrow's Star wars, which was able to beat the rise of Skywalker.
Although it was to be the end of one of the largest franchises of all time, Star wars: the rise of Skywalker divided both critics and followers. According to his detractors, there were elements in J.J. Abrams' work that felt forced, in addition to not being able to synthesize the spirit of the saga, or the trilogy in a concrete way, resulting in a half-finished end that must have been greater than it turned out to be.
Now, a leak revealed what might have become of that latest Star wars tape if only Disney had not separated from director Colin Trevorrow, who was to be the director before J.J. Abrams returned to finish the saga.
The first leak came through Reddit in the form of a video by producer Robert Meyer Burnett, who was recorded discussing a draft written by Trevorrow for Star wars episode IX, along with Derek Connoly.
Another leak came with the conceptual arts that were made for that script, which were discarded once J.J. Abrams arrived in production replacing Trevorrow.
That episode IX devised by Trevorrow had the title "Duel of the Fates", just like the song that played in Star wars: episode I during the fight with Darth Maul.
Among the data on the tape is that Palpatine would not have appeared as a main villain, but we would only see his face in a holocron message addressed to Darth Vader, where he tells him to take Luke Skywalker to former master Sith Vor Talum. That message would be seen by Kylo Ren, who would go looking for Master Sith.
Kylo would be injured by the holocron, which would force him to perform an unexpectedly operation, implanting a piece of a Mandalorian helmet to his face, which would give him a more frightening look.
Meanwhile, the Resistance is heading to Coruscant dominated by the First order to find a tool that would help them call the allies to fight.
For his part, King would stay separate from everyone, training with the help of Luke Skywalker's ghost, who would be tormenting Kylo Rey.
At the same time, Kylo would train with Vor Talum, who would put him face to face with Darth Vader, in a match between siths which he loses. After that defeat, Kylo seeks King for his final battle on planet Mortis.
It all ends with Kylo revealing to King that he killed his parents on the orders of Snoke and although all the Jedi try to save him, bringing him to the luminous side of the force, Kylo dies fading.
This also includes a line in which King becomes a "Jedi Gris" similar to what happens in the rise of Skywalker, leaving behind the Jedi legacy, and creating a true balance in force.
