Dragon Ball: 10 basic errors that Piccolo continues to commit
Aside from Goku himself, Piccolo is one of the purest martial artists to be found. A fighter who devotes himself to constant training, Piccolo is the strongest of the non-Saiyans on Team Dragon (ie the Z fighters) and one of the most eclectic fighters in Dragon Ball, thanks to his unique techniques and Namekian abilities, like regeneration.
However, for all he does well, there are some common mistakes that continue to hold Piccolo back. He is a consummate warrior and mentor, but he could improve in both areas with just a little change in his habits.
10 Not going to New Namek to learn more about his species (and their techniques)Piccolo is the only Namekian fighter in the main Dragon Ball cast, but he's far from the only Namekian in the franchise. In the Dragon Ball cosmos there is an entire planet of his people, full of warriors and other Namekians with unique techniques that they could teach Piccolo.
Piccolo has never opted to spend any extended time on New Namek, however, explaining at one point that he finds their peaceful lifestyle too boring... too bad, since he could learn more from them than he probably would. believe. At least he would give Nail, who Piccolo absorbed, a chance to reconnect with his people.
9 Not Fusing With More NameksPiccolo may not have any Saiyan-like transformation, but he has used Namekian Fusion (also known as "Assimilation") to increase his power by astronomical amounts. He first used Namekian Fusion on Namek's strongest fighter, Nail, giving him the strength to take on Frieza's second form. He then merged with his other half, Kami, making him Android 17's combat equal.
Since Assimilation makes Piccolo much stronger, fusing with more Namekian warriors would be a quick way to reach new heights of power. However, since he has become so much stronger than all known Namekians, it's hard to say how beneficial future fusions would be.
8 Not Using Bulma's Gravity Chamber (In Other Than Her Weighted Clothing)Several Dragon Ball characters have used weighted clothing to aid their training, but rarely as consistently as Piccolo. On occasion, Piccolo has gone so far as to defeat lesser enemies simply by dropping his heavy cloak and turban on them.
However, Piccolo could apply a similar concept by changing the gravity around him, rather than just adding weight to his body. He may not be the most social DragonBall character, but he's an old acquaintance of Bulma's, whose father invented the Gravity Machine that Goku and Vegeta use to train. Since then, Bulma has created new Gravity Chambers that Piccolo could easily use when Vegeta and Trunks aren't occupying them.
7 No more training in the Hyperbolic Time ChamberOriginally, a person could only train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for two whole days, so as not to end up trapped in the room forever. However, they could return for brief periods, as Piccolo did when he lured Super Buu inside to fight Gotenks.
Since then, Dende has modified the boundaries of the Time Chamber so that fighters can train there multiple times, but only up to three days in a row. Thus, Piccolo, who last used the room before the Cell Games, could easily return - each day would count as one year, but that would hardly affect him, since Namekians have a long lifespan.
6 No more training Goten and TrunksPiccolo has trained several children in the Dragon Ball franchise, specifically Gohan, Goten and Trunks. However, in Dragon Ball Super he has mainly focused on regaining Gohan's fighting form.
Anyone know how to cancel a Pitney Bowes lease? For small businesses, their terms are outrageous!

Trunks and Goten, by contrast, tend to train more with their parents, and have sometimes expressed less interest in fighting, which foreshadows the lackadaisical attitude they'll develop toward training as teenagers. However, Piccolo would be an excellent person to keep them in fighting shape, given his past experience training them and the fact that he helped Gohan regain his full strength relatively quickly.
5 Not Training Dende in Martial ArtsUnlike his predecessor Kami, who was a highly proficient (though not especially powerful) martial artist, Dende does not possess any known fighting skills. While it is generally in Dende's best interest to avoid physical conflict, as the Dragon Balls would render inert if killed, he also has very few ways to defend himself if he finds himself in danger and unable to escape or call others.
Interestingly, Piccolo has never trained Dende for such an eventuality. He may have chosen not to do so out of respect for Dende's more pacifist nature, but doing so would help keep Dende even more safe from harm.
4 No More Training As A GiantPiccolo surprised Goku when he became a giant (also known as a Great Namekian) at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament. Although his power level was still fixed, he had become somewhat stronger and resistant to attacks and retained his speed.
The move isn't without its drawbacks: Goku entered Piccolo's mouth and could have easily attacked him from the inside (instead of just rescuing Kami). Also, it's not very suitable for small, high-speed opponents like Gohan. However, it's perfect for fighting giants of Piccolo's strength, and increases the size of his attacks - a gigantic Light Grenade, for example, would be difficult for smaller, slower enemies to dodge.
3 Knowing the Fusion Dance and never using it (or the Potara earrings) to fuseIn addition to Namekian Fusion, Piccolo can also fuse with non-species using the Metamoran Fusion Dance. However, despite having learned the technique and teaching it to others, Piccolo has never fused.
To be fair, he's in a weird place power-wise, being significantly stronger than humans, but considerably weaker than Saiyans; he is also taller than most. However, as seen in the case of Gotenks, the two people who are fused together don't have to be the same height, as long as they are in the same general range and can adjust their power levels to match. Furthermore, Piccolo could use the Potara to merge with virtually anyone.
2 Don't use your telepathy to plan secret attacks with alliesTelepathy is a strange technique in Dragon Ball; lots of people know how to use it, and yet they rarely do. Piccolo, on the other hand, regularly appears using telepathy to communicate with others. More recently, he used his telepathic powers in a failed attempt to contact the telepaths living on New Namek.
One can't help but wonder, then, why Piccolo has used them so infrequently in battle. He could have easily coordinated battle strategies with his teammates in various conflicts, including the fight against Frieza and the Tournament of Power.
1 Not training with deities like Elder Kai, Beerus, and WhisGohan made up for years of lack of training when Supreme Elder Kai brought out the half-saiyan's hidden power, pushing it even beyond its limits. Gohan didn't even need the Super Saiyan forms of him anymore, as they would have simply drained the energy from him without a significant increase in strength.
Elder Kai's increased power would equally benefit Piccolo, whose strength at this point likely dwarfs Gohan's power before he was unlocked. Similarly, Piccolo could try to convince Beerus and Whis to train him, perhaps winning them over with food... though Piccolo might lack knowledge of what's tasty, since he rarely eats; Technically, you don't need it.
