Karl Lagerfeld, the kaiser of fashion, passed away in 2019 and now many of his treasures, antiques and belongings have come up for auction at Sotheby's. Among his most precious assets are some Tectona furniture, with which he decorated his different homes.
Delicately selected for each of its corners, the German fashion designer chose furniture that would be preserved over the years, for this reason, Tectona, the French benchmark for outdoor furniture, became his greatest ally.
The pieces of the French brand, chosen by Lagerfeld and auctioned since last Monday, December 6, have been part of all his properties: Ramatuelle, Monaco, Biarritz and Louveciennes. Among them stands out, for example, a couple of Marly model benches, ideal for decorating the most beautiful gardens, which have been sold for just over 7.00 euros. Also a pair of red wooden loungers, whose buyer has purchased them for 3,500 euros. And a lacquered table with a set of four chairs with white cotton cushions that have been auctioned for 4,000 euros.

The most expensive furniture auctioned by the great designer has been some garden furniture in gray lacquered aluminum, which has sold for almost 14,000 euros. The lot consists of four chairs and a small table.
Tectona furniture has been chosen, for years, by the most renowned aesthetes. Because they understand outdoor life as an art, just like the French firm does. For this reason, its furniture is poetically integrated into gardens and terraces with elegant pieces that have demonstrated a lasting quality and a style that goes from the classic to the contemporary.

Sotheby's wanted to pay homage to the designer who died at the age of 85 at the American Hospital in Paris, Neuilly-sur-Seine.
