Follow these 8 tips and you will be able to raise your buttocks before summer
Did you know that the glutes are the largest muscles in our body? Myriam Yébenes, director of the Maribel Yébenes beauty and aesthetic medicine center, tells us, who explains that “they are capable of exerting great force, but gravity, lack of exercise and unhealthy habits can cause them to lose their tonicity, definition and firmness. For this reason, we have set to work to think of an action plan that will help us lift our buttocks for the summer months, when they become protagonists when those days of sun and beach arrive. And it is that we are facing one of the areas that most worries many women, since it has a great tendency to accumulate fat.
We also start from a base: in the Felicidad Carrera centers they explain to us that problems change according to age. Thus, the alteration that most worries the youngest, between 20 and 35 years of age, is orange peel, which is why they request treatments that eliminate the undulations of the skin to achieve smooth and soft skin. From the age of 36 and onwards, the most frequent problem is flaccidity, the buttocks droop, they lose muscle tone and skin elasticity, so they request push-up treatments to return what has fallen to its place. But, in addition, you must include these habits in your routine to help your buttocks stay firm.
1. Sport, your great ally. The gluteal area benefits, and a lot, from the practice of specific exercises for this area. If you haven't included them in your training yet, you have to start taking into account squats -possibly the 'king' exercise to combat this problem-, lunges and rear glute kicks; They cost, but they are the most effective. With 3 daily series of 30 each, it would be perfect... But you have to remember to be constant to notice the results.
2. A plus of hydration. “One of the main enemies of this area is cellulite. To keep it under control, it is important to have a correct hydration based on water and infusions, with the aim of making the skin look hydrated and smooth. Eliminate sugary drinks, soft drinks or alcohol from your diet, which will do nothing but make it worse. When you drink teas, infusions or coffee, do not add sugar to these drinks and also reduce or eliminate any type of sweetener. Better the natural liquid. If you want, you can infuse the water with lemon, fruit, spices... to give it a different taste and freshness”, tells us Marta Vallejo, specialist in Nutrition and Dietetics at Clínica Option Médica.
3. Say yes to protein. It is important to opt for "a diet that helps maintain our overall firmness in the body, which must have a large presence of proteins in all meals of the day, which are what will strengthen muscle tissue" , explains Myriam Yébenes. Marta Vallejo, specialist in Nutrition at Option Medical, adds that "we must prioritize vegetable proteins such as legumes, tofu or nuts. And regarding animal proteins, we must prioritize eggs, then fish, shellfish or crustaceans and finally meat. It is important to incorporate quality fats such as nuts, sunflower seeds and seeds, avocado, virgin olive oil or oily fish. Forget processed products, light, zero... many times you eliminate fat but add sugar".
4. Challenge yourself. “We also have to change, as far as possible, our lifestyle: forget about the elevators and go up the stairs -one of the best habits to work in this area-, if we have time, try to walk instead of taking the car , get up at least once an hour during the working day to walk for a few minutes...”, tells us Myriam Yébenes. In a few months your buttocks will thank you.
5. Exercise 'around the clock'. Dr. Diego Tomás Ivancich, a specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, explains that the buttocks should be contracted whenever possible. Sitting in the office, at traffic lights, traffic jams…etc. Any excuse is good to strengthen and tone this area.
6. Walk daily. The good weather will come soon and there is no longer any excuse. According to Dr. Tomás, it is proven that walking for at least 30 minutes a day reduces the volume of fat accumulated in that area that is so problematic for many women
7. Do not abuse too tight clothes. We said that one of his main problems is cellulite. For this reason, you have to try to avoid tight pants, one of the biggest enemies of orange peel, because they do not allow the skin to breathe and they tighten it, leaving a trace that is very difficult to remove later. For this reason, looser clothing adapted to the body is the best option.
8. Bithermal shower and massages. This area also takes advantage of the benefits of showering with hot-cold temperature contrasts, as they help reduce swelling, both in the legs and in the buttocks area. In addition, it is important to mobilize the area daily with massages and hydration (circular movements and always upwards).
And an extra: cabin treatments can always lend us a hand. Two examples: at the Maribel Yébenes center they propose Body Tone, a revolutionary radiofrequency protocol with contraction that manages to restore tone to the gluteal muscle, lifting it and repositioning it like never before. Another alternative is liposuction: “Many times the shape of the buttocks is not appreciated and does not show off due to the fat formations that have accumulated around it. In this situation, a liposuction of the adjacent regions supposes a perfect remodeling and highlighting of the area”, says Dr. Diego Tomás.
